1. Overview & Core Philosophy

Keepsake – Friendship Circle ("Keepsake", "we", "us", or "our") was thoughtfully built as a quiet, private sanctuary for your most cherished friendships and memories. We believe your personal relationships, birthdays, gift hints, and private notes belong to you and you alone.

Unlike modern social networks or cloud platforms, Keepsake is designed with a strict local-first, offline architecture. We do not operate remote user databases, we do not require account registration, and we never collect, monetize, or transmit your personal information.

2. Data Storage & Ownership

All information you enter into Keepsake is stored locally on your physical device using an isolated, sandboxed SQLite database:

• Friend Profiles & Details: Names, birthdays, relationship milestones, coffee preferences, clothing/ring sizing, and custom tidbits.
• Catch-up Memos & Topics: Conversation agendas, meetup notes, and checkable lists.
• Gift Wishlists: Saved gift ideas, price hints, and purchase status tags.
• Moment Photos: Photos you choose to attach are stored directly within the application's local device sandbox.

3. Device Permissions

Keepsake may request specific system permissions to enable core features. You are in complete control of these permissions through your device settings:

• Photos / Media Library (Optional): Allows you to pick a photo from your gallery to use as an avatar or moment memory. Selected images are stored locally in the app directory; they are never uploaded to any server.
• Camera (Optional): Allows you to capture a spontaneous moment photo directly within the app. Captured images remain strictly on your local device.
• Biometrics / Face ID / Touch ID (Optional): If you choose to enable the Privacy Gate, authentication is processed directly by Apple iOS LocalAuthentication / Android BiometricPrompt hardware. Keepsake never accesses, captures, or stores biometric signatures.
• Notifications (Optional): Used exclusively to deliver scheduled local alarms on your device for upcoming friend birthdays or meetup reminders. These notifications are scheduled locally without any external push server.

4. In-App Purchases & Financial Data

Keepsake offers optional premium upgrades (such as Keepsake Lifetime) to unlock unlimited circle members and exclusive aesthetic stationery themes.

All financial transactions are handled directly and securely by the Apple App Store (for iOS) or Google Play Store (for Android) under their respective terms and privacy policies. Keepsake never sees, processes, or stores your credit card number, billing address, or payment details. We only receive an anonymous cryptographic validation receipt confirming your active purchase status.

5. Backups and Data Portability

You have full ownership of your data at all times:

• Local Export (JSON): You can generate a complete, unencrypted or AES-256 encrypted JSON backup file of your entire circle at any time from the in-app Settings.
• System Backups: If you use Apple iCloud Backup or Google Drive Device Backup, your encrypted app sandbox may be backed up according to your operating system's personal backup settings.

6. Third-Party Services & Analytics

Keepsake does not integrate:

• No third-party analytics (no Google Analytics, no Firebase Analytics, no Mixpanel).
• No crash tracking telemetry reporting private stack traces.
• No advertising SDKs or data brokers (no Facebook Pixel, no AdMob, no Unity Ads).
• No social login providers or remote tracking cookies.

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K)

Keepsake does not solicit, collect, or store personal data from anyone, including children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). Because no personal information is ever transmitted to us, Keepsake fully complies with COPPA, GDPR, and international child data protection standards.

8. Deletion of Data

Because all data is stored on your device:

• You can delete individual friends, notes, or photos at any time within the app.
• Uninstalling or deleting Keepsake from your device immediately and permanently purges all local databases, images, and cached files.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any revisions will be published on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Because Keepsake does not collect your contact info, we encourage you to review this page periodically.

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Keepsake – Friendship Circle. By downloading, accessing, or using Keepsake, you agree to be bound by these Terms and the Standard Apple End User License Agreement (EULA).

2. License Grant

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Keepsake on devices that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to the rules set forth in Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions and Google Play Terms of Service.

3. Keepsake Lifetime Purchase

Keepsake offers an optional Lifetime Access tier via a one-time in-app purchase:

• Permanently unlocks unlimited friend profiles, all 6 handcrafted aesthetic themes (including Digital Scrapbook and Warm Mocha), custom accent color spectrums, and unlimited photo moments.
• This purchase is non-consumable, non-expiring, and does not require recurring subscriptions.
• You can restore your purchase on any device using the same Apple ID or Google account via the "Restore Purchases" button in Settings.

4. Payments & Refunds

All purchases are processed directly by Apple Inc. (via the App Store) or Google LLC (via Google Play). Billing, payment processing, tax calculation, family sharing eligibility, and refund requests are governed by Apple's and Google's standard store policies. To request a refund, please contact Apple Support or Google Play Support directly.

5. Data Responsibility & Backups

Because Keepsake does not transmit or store your content on remote servers, you are solely responsible for safeguarding your personal data:

• We recommend taking advantage of the built-in JSON export feature in Settings to maintain external backups.
• We are not responsible or liable for any loss of data resulting from device loss, damage, operating system resets, or uninstallation.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

Keepsake is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.
